AMVAC Chemical Corporation (“AMVAC”)
Trademarks
Proper Use of AMVAC Trademarks:
Trademarks are adjectives used to modify nouns. The noun is the generic name of the branded product. For example:
- Impact herbicide
- SIMPAS application system
- Tre-Hold sprout inhibitor
- SmartBox container
As adjectives, trademarks may not be used in the plural or possessive form.
- Correct: Recommended are four SmartCartridge containers.
- Incorrect: Recommended are four SmartCartridges.
Also, trademarks should not be made into verbs.
The appropriate generic describing term must appear after the trademark the first time it appears in printed material, and as often as reasonably possible. For a list of suggested generic terms please see the AMVAC U.S. Trademark List below.
Do not use any AMVAC trademark or logo in a disparaging manner.
Trademark Symbols and Owner Attribution Statement:
If the trademark or logo is registered, use the ® symbol, or if the trademark is pending registration (not yet registered), use the ™ symbol. Please refer to the AMVAC Trademark List below for the correct trademark symbol in the U.S. only. Generally, the symbol appears at the upper right shoulder of the trademark (except AMVAC logos, where the symbol may appears at the right foot or other area of the logo).
Distribution Within the United States Only
For products, product documentation, or other product communications that will be distributed only in the United States, use the appropriate trademark symbol (™ or ®) the first time the AMVAC trademark appears in the text of the advertisement, brochure, or other material and where the AMVAC trademark appears prominently.
Distribution Outside the United States:
For products, product documentation, or other product communications that will be distributed outside the United States, only use the ™ trademark symbol. Use the symbol the first time the AMVAC trademark appears in the text of the advertisement, brochure, or other material and where the AMVAC trademark appears prominently.
Attribute ownership of AMVAC trademarks to its appropriate AMVAC entity.
Example of a correct attribution statement: AZTEC and COUNTER are trademarks owned by AMVAC Chemical Corporation.

AMVAC U.S. Trademark List
Please use the appropriate trademark symbol after the trademark the first time it appears and in prominent places, such as titles. The descriptive generic term should appear the first time the mark appears and as frequently as possible thereafter. The following generic terms are only suggestions, and there may be other words that are as equally appropriate.
