Scott Ludwig who joined the AMVAC Product Development Team effective August 13, 2018. Scott will take on Product Development and Technical Sales Support activities in the Southern Development Region.
Scott earned a B.S. in Zoology from the University of Kentucky. He then received his Master of Science and Doctorate in Entomology from Virginia Tech and the University of Georgia, respectfully. Scott also completed a Post Doctorate program in Entomology and Horticulture at Penn State University. He was hired by the Texas IPM Program in the first position to address Integrated Pest Management issues for the greenhouse and nursery industry in Texas. In that position, Scott conducted efficacy trials will all the major companies, wrote regular columns in a number of grower publications such as magazines and newsletters. Scott was actively involved with both the ornamental and food-use IR-4 Programs. After nine years with Extension he joined the industry by accepting a position with Nichino America. While at Nichino his responsibility expanded from Product Development and Technical Support in Texas and the mid-South to the entire central USA. He was soon promoted to Project Manager where his duties expanded to include working closely with the Regulatory Department to foster registration dossiers and to provide increased support to the Marketing Team.
Scott and his wife, Laura, live in Tyler, TX. They have a daughter, Hayden who is entering 9th grade. They enjoy spending time camping, kayaking, and paddle boarding. Scott and Hayden recently became certified SCUBA divers and look forward to diving in exotic locations.
