First biological product to receive the recognition from retailer, agronomists, and crop consultants

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., Feb. 7, 2024 – BioWake™ for Corn and BioWake™ for Soybeans, the biological seed lubricants from AMVAC® GreenSolutions™, has been named the 2023 New Product of The Year by Farm Journal’s The Scoop, as chosen by their readers.

The Scoop delivers need-to-know information to ag retailers, crop consultants, and farm managers through their print magazine, newsletter, and website. It is published by Farm Journal, a leader in agriculture content, data, and business insights.

“We are thrilled to see that The Scoop has recognized BioWake as the 2023 New Product of the Year, especially as the first biological product to receive the award,” said Ted Walter, U.S. GreenSolutions marketing manager, AMVAC. “We are proud of the traction BioWake has received as we expand the family of products for the 2024 growing season.”

AMVAC®, a solutions provider for global agriculture, is pleased to announce BioWake™ has been nominated for 2023 New Product of the Year by Farm Journal’s The Scoop. BioWake is a biological seed lubricant that is part of the GreenSolutions™ product portfolio.

In 2023, AMVAC introduced BioWake™ for Corn and BioWake™ for Soybeans – biological seed lubricants that contain pink-pigmented facultative methylotrophs (PPFMs) which are naturally occurring microbes that are proven to improve early season vigor, enhance nutrient uptake, and increase yield potential.

“We are excited that BioWake is already receiving recognition from The Scoop and its readers,” said Ted Walter, U.S. GreenSolutions Marketing Manager, AMVAC. “We are getting ready to launch more products under the BioWake line that will provide value across more row crops in the coming year.”

Although still a growing sector within crop inputs, the demand for biologicals continues to increase. In 2023, AMVAC GreenSolutions sponsored a research study by Stratovation Group in collaboration with the Ag Retailers Association, The Fertilizer Institute, and D.C. Legislative & Regulatory Services to gain further insight into farmers' attitudes and perceptions of biological products. Farmers indicated that yield and profitability were their primary drivers for using biological products. Over half of the respondents were already applying biologicals with other inputs.

As adoption continues to grow, AMVAC is poised to provide the biological solutions farmers are looking for through our GreenSolutions portfolio. AMVAC is now in the top 10 biological product suppliers in the U.S., according to CropLife’s 2024 Biologicals Survey
